Christopher Bell, Tanner Thorson and Raphael Lessard Added to Venturini Motorsports' ARCA Driver Roster
Announced today, Venturini Motorsports (VMS) unveiled the addition of Christopher Bell, Tanner Thorson and Raphaël Lessard to the team’s 2017 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driver roster.
The trio of drivers will combine for seven races driving for Venturini Motorsports.
If one is looking for an up-and-coming open-wheel racer, the brightest star just may be Nevada’s Tanner Thorson.
The 20-year-old driver put together his best season to date last year, netting 17 midget victories across multiple touring series and captured the USAC National Midget Series championship thanks in large part to a late-season surge that included a sweep the Gold Crown Midget Nationals at Illinois’ Tri-City Speedway in October.
Thorson also made his debut in full-bodied stock cars, racing in both asphalt late models and the ARCA Racing Series.
Coming into the 2016 USAC National Midget season, many observers earmarked Tanner Thorson as the odds-on favorite to become the next series champion.
Armed with three years of experience in the series and a ride in the perennially potent Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports ride, it was more than enough to provide credence to the notion that Thorson would be a contender to win each and every night he strapped into the TRD - JBL Audio/Bullet/Speedway Toyota No 67.
